The features of the Siebtechnik Conturbex make it the most advanced, yet simple-to-operate screening centrifuge on the market to day.

You benefit from a compact horizontal design. It requires no special foundation, hydraulic system, or preconcentration of the feed stream.

A greater variety of products can be processed by a Conturbex, due to its conical basket design and concentrically placed worm/scroll. Today, Conturbex installations process a wide range of crystalline, granular, and fibrous products. And final moistures for nearly all products meet or exceed results obtained from other continuous screening centrifuges.

Lower operating cost is another advantage to Conturbex technology. The Conturbex requires only one driver motor, because the basket angle is selected to meet the process requirements. The simple, compact design makes the Conturbex virtually maintenance-free. No vibration, no surge-load washout, no hydraulics, and no special installation requirements make this the first choice in systems needing screen-type centrifuges.

This Siebtechnik centrifuge is especially suited for the separation and washing of solids out of a suspension. The best results are obtained when the feed contains more than 40 % solids with a minimal size of 100 µm. The solids are feed at the small diameter of the conical basket. In this basket a special screen is fitted, through which the liquid passes and on which the solids are retained on the screen basket. A concentric scroll, that runs with a slightly higher speed than the basket, transports the solids over the screen to the large diameter. In the middle of the basket, a washing liquid can be applied with adjustable nozzles. Almost all centrifuges are custom-built, so adjustments to special process needs are possible.

Available in cylindrical and cylindrical / conical execution, with a 1, 2- or 3-step basket. Especially used when the solids in the suspension are very fine, abrasive, need a long time to dewater or when extreme washing is needed. For the proper use of the pusher centrifuge a solid content of at least 50% is needed. With lower concentrations, a special patented feed distributor ring can be installed, assuring a more smooth running. Due to its conical design, higher capacities with lower moisture content can be achieved.
Due to its modular design with easily accessible parts, maintenance is minimized and needs minimum labour. All centrifuges are custom-built so adjustment to special process requirements is no problem.

Decanter Centrifuge

Solid bowl decanter type centrifuges often will dewater materials which are too fine for effective dewatering by worm/screen centrifuges.
In decanter-type units, extraction of liquid takes place in the cylindrical part of the bowl. Dewatering of solids by either filtration or compression of the filter cake takes place in the conical part of the bowl. Bowl geometry must be adapted to achieve optimum results for the desired application.

Most applications require the geometric design of our TS type. For more difficult problems, such as the removal of waste water or the dewatering of fine slurries, our type TSE is ideal. And when very low moistures are required, our decanter unit can be fitted with a special screening area, which is our type TSS design, commonly known as a screen/bowl centrifuge.
This siebtechnik is especially suited for the dewatering of flows with a very low solid content or when a clear filtrate is necessary. Our size starts with bowl diameters of 210 mm and ends at 1.000 mm. For every size a choice can be made between 3 length/diameter ratios.

Further executions are possible:

   2- or 3-phase separation

The Turbo-Screen Decanter is an advanced development in solid/liquid separation technology and has significant design and process engineering advantages. With the usual screen bowl centrifuges, the screen section is connected to the drum cone at the point of its smallest diameter with identical dimensions. This design has the disadvantage of a restricted volume and consequently a higher solids layer, with reduced centrifugal forces particularly in the dewatering section of the centrifuge.

The Turbo-Screen Decanter combines the advantages of the solid bowl centrifuge and the screen centrifuge in two distinct stages, to optimum effect.

In the first stage of the process, the solids are dewatered on the conical part of the solid bowl section.

The filling volume of the drum and thereby the length of the drying beach are infinitely adjustable with the weir plate. The clear liquid is decanted over this weir plate. The pre-thickened solids are thrown over the end of the conical section into the following, significantly larger screen drum.

In this second stage the solids cake is broken up and re-distributed to give a thinner layer of material due to the large volume available. Simultaneously the solid layer is exposed to a significantly higher centrifugal force, as a result of the larger diameter, which enhances the filtration and lowers the residual moisture.

As only a relatively small amount of liquid reaches the screen section with the pre-thickened solid material, the loss of ultra fines through the screen drum is low and can be disregarded when recirculated into the centrifuge.

The generously proportioned screen drum with a flat layer of solid material is also particularly suitable for washing. Naturally the washing liquid can be discharged separately from the mother liquor.

This Siebtechnik centrifuge combines the advantages of the Conturbex and the solid bowl centrifuge. It consists of a solid bowl, which takes care that the slurry fed to the centrifuge is prethickened. This has also the advantage that there is only a minimal loss of fines in the filtrate. At the end of the solid bowl a cylindrical screen part is fitted. On this part the solids are further dewatered and, if necessary, they can be washed. Typical applications are found in the field of dewatering slurries containing fine particles that would give a low yield in any other continuously operating screen centrifuge. Due to the cylindrical design of the screen part it is very easy to change screens in case of wear or maintenance.

The design of the Conthick centrifuge is based on the proven technology of the Conturbex Worm/Screen centrifuge. With the additional decanter-like pre-thickening unit, high efficiencies of low solid concentration slurries as well as recovered fines are realized.

The purpose of this centrifuge is to separate solids from liquids out of a slurry. The slurry is fed via an inlet pipe to the pre-thickening part of the centrifuge via openings at the center of the worm body. The majority of the mother liquor will be discharged at the rear of the solid bowl portion via a step-less adjustable weir to obtain a clear centrate. The solids are now pre-thickened and are transported to the centrifuge's screen section where final dewatering and product wash, if desired, takes place. Both liquid streams can be discharged separately if desired, or combined together, depending on the process requirements. An addition of a single or double de-gassing discharge cyclone can be added for applications where pumps are needed immediately following the centrifuge to handle the centrate and filtrate.

The loss of fine particles is relatively low and can even be minimized by feeding the screen liquid (filtrate) back into the slurry feed inlet. The solids retained on the screen are transported axially over the cylindrical screen by the worm and into the solids discharge housing. Various types of screening material can be used to optimize dewatering and reduce fines losses.

Centriflex Centrifuge

          

Centriflex Laboratory Centrifuge

The new Siebtechnik laboratory centrifuge Centriflex is a real universal centrifuge for treating suspensions by applying high centrifugal forces.

By using the appropriate accessories, the centrifuge can be used for filtration, washing, rinsing, clarifying, and continuous separation of 2 liquids while also discharging the solids (3-phase separation). Also the production of emulsion is possible.

With a choice of full beakers or glass inserts sedimentation tests can be carried out. At the same time, filter beakers can be used to check the results of different filter media on a product.
The Centriflex can be utilized for the batchwise separation of small suspension quantities in a production environment.

The Centriflex was designed to be user friendly for fitting and filling. Machine control is via a digital display of status, speed, and time lapsed. Timed automatic or manual with timer can be selected. 

The nominal speed is reached very quickly and electrically maintained until the Centriflex is braked to standstill. This can be reached either gradually (soft stop) or via quick-stop.
Via the quick-stop automatic an exact running time can be achieved and the machine availability increased. At the front of the housing are recesses for the centrate or filtrate collecting vessel.

Naturally the centrifuge is equipped with an interlocked safety lid to prevent access to the rotating parts while the machine is running.
